SPECTATOR INFO

What are the best places for spectators to view the race?

Swim: The best area to view the swim will be from Montelago Bridge located just above the swim start at Lake Las Vegas. From this vantage point you can catch both the swim start and finish. There are also plenty of great viewing spots along the shores located at either side of the bridge including the Montelago Village Note: strollers and wheelchairs should be able to navigate the swim area with relative ease.

Bike: There are several great areas to view athletes along the bike course. The New River Mountain Loop Trail will be open to pedestrians and offers ample space to set up picnic blankets and lawn chairs. (Note: only the entrance and exit points will be accessible by vehicle so be prepared to walk). Both Discovery Park and Paseo Verde Park located along Paseo Verde Parkway cater to children by offering playgrounds and also offer great vantage points of the tail end of the bike course. Lastly, anywhere along Horizon Ridge Parkway will allow for families to "set up camp" and wait for their athlete to pass. Strollers are ok in any of these areas. We ask that you do not follow athletes in your car as vehicles will not be strongly discouraged on much of the course. The roads will be very congested and heavily monitored by Lake Mead Rangers and Henderson Police Dept.

Run: There are a ton of areas to view the run, but the best place will be the finish line. The finish line will be filled with constant excitement and offer the chance to see runners 3-4 times as they pass through the finish area to start additional laps. Located in the finish area will also be an expo as well as food vendors throughout race day. Everywhere along the run course will be open to spectators so find a place that feels comfortable and enjoy the show!

Can I take my car on the race course to watch my athlete?
No, for safety reasons we ask that you do not attempt to follow your athlete by car. The best place to watch your athlete is in the transition area and the finish line. Any vehicular traffic on the race course should expect long delays. Please do not attempt to gain access to the race course with your vehicle. We want to keep the course as safe as possible for the athletes.

Will there be transportation?
Shuttle services for spectators will be determined at a later date. There will be ample spectator parking available at the swim start and the areas surrounding the Finish area.

Where should I park?
Please follow parking signage inside the Lake Las Vegas resort. Parking around the finish line will be somewhat limited. Please park at one of the following locations adjacent to the finish area: Green Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino, The District at Green Valley Ranch, or Twitchell/Vanderburg Elementary Schools on Desert Trail.

What roads will be closed on race day?
A complete list of road closures can be found under our Race Details tab.

Where are the best places to eat?
At the swim start you'll find dining options at our host hotel Loews Las Vegas as well as a handful of restaurants at Montelago Village in Lake Las Vegas. Near the finish line, The District at Green Valley Ranch offers copious restaurants, and several give specials to spectators during the race. You'll also find shopping centers within driving distance with additional dining options.

Will I be allowed to cross the finish line with my athlete?
Friends and/or family members will not be permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating athletes. This policy will ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers and fans. Families are encouraged to reunite with their athlete once they've exited the athletes' area.

Will I be allowed into the finish line area to greet my athlete?
Unfortunately, due to high congestion in the finish line area, no spectators will be allowed. Please do not try to gain access to this area, as it must remain clear for the safety of the athletes. Before the event, you and your athlete should decide on a meeting place for after they have finished.

Will I be allowed into the medical tent to look for my athlete if they have not arrived at our meeting destination?
The Medical Tent is highly congested and spectators will not be allowed in. There will be a Medical Information Tent or table next to the Medical Tent where medical updates will be available on athletes who enter the Medical Tent. Please, be patient with the Medical Information Volunteers, updates will be reported as soon as they are received.
